A senior United States envoy has praised the Lebanese government's response to a US proposal aimed at disarming Hezbollah amid Israel's continued military presence in the country. The plan called for the Shia Lebanese group Hezbollah to fully disarm within four months in exchange for a halt to Israeli air strikes and the full withdrawal of Israel's military from the five positions it continues to occupy in southern Lebanon. "What the government gave us was something spectacular in a very short period of time," Barrack told reporters on Monday after meeting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. "I'm unbelievably satisfied with the response." While Barrack confirmed that he had received a seven-page reply from the Lebanese side, he offered no details on its contents.

An Israeli air attack on a car in the occupied West Bank city of Tubas has killed at least five Palestinians and left others wounded, local media and medical workers report. Israel said early on Thursday morning that military aircraft took part in "three different attacks" on Palestinian fighters who "posed a threat" to their forces in the Tubas region. Palestinian medics reported that five people were killed in an Israeli air strike targeting a car and two people were injured, one of whom was critical, according to the Palestinian state news agency, Wafa. The Reuters news agency later reported that the number of those killed in the drone attack had risen to at least six. According to Wafa, the attack was carried out by an armed drone, and Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance crews brought the bodies of the five deceased men and two wounded people to the Tubas Turkish Government Hospital.

Hezbollah and the Israeli army confirm a commander of the armed group was killed in a drone strike on a car in southern Lebanon. The strike on Ismail Yusaf Baz comes as Hezbollah claims to have hit an Israeli Iron Dome battery, causing casualties among the Israeli crew.

An Israeli drone strike has targeted two journalists in Muraj, north of Rafah, including Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent, Ismail Abu Omar who doctors say is in a critical condition.
